ReplyDeleteI just read "Daughter of the Saints: Grwoing up in Polygamy" by Dorothy Allred Solomon. It won't answer any of your specifice questions about polygamy but I found it filled in the blanks about how polygamy has evolved. It's mostly a memoir but she does go into quite a bit of family/church history in regards to polygamy.
Like I said in my "25 Random things" post on Facebook, I'll probably read 1/3 of them cover to cover, then skim a few and return the rest without ever cracking the spine.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check out "Growing up in Polygamy". As I read more about how advesely polygamy affected the people involved the more I'm convinved it was never inspired doctrine.
