The most effective commercial for me was the anti-littering campaign with the crying "Indian". (1970's terminology). I still feel as strongly against littering decades later. A close second would be Woodsy Owl with "Give a Hoot. Don't Pollute!"
This is a excellent PSA. One of the best.
